My wife is interested in going on a retreat for meditation to balance her life more. The one she finds most common is that of Vipassana meditation. I’ve heard good things and bad things, like it’s cult-ish and controlling. I’ve also heard that it’s not the best type of meditation to practice for your 1st retreat. Is there a type of meditation retreat that you can recommend for someone’s first time, or should I just go with Vipassana. Thanks!
